Puchong Yong Tau Foo

Yay!! WTF, opps I mean YTF. My favourite would be Hakka YTF. I love the added salted fish and cuttlefish (the purplish ones) that add flavour and the chewy texture to the filling of the tau foo (beancurd aka tofu).

This time around, our friends bought us to this famous stall in Puchong that serve humongous YTF. There is a Chinese school right opposite of this stall, SJKC Han Ming. If you're worried you'll missed it, don't be. There will be traffic built up at the turning area and many cars parked at the roadside.

Wah~~ Mari Pilih Mari Pilih

The YTF is served either in soup or fried (picture below)

You choose your selections from the bean curd, vegetables and bean curd stick, after which the staff will stuff the filling (fish paste) on the spot! Talk about fresh YTF. Also, the soup is mildly seasoned and you can taste some beancurd and also vege that might be from the YTF that you have selected earlier. MSG is minimal as all of us were not thirsty after the meal. =)

They actually add in some shu chai choy (sweet leaf) into our bowl of YTF. This is the vegetables you normally get in a bowl of Pan Mee. I like the greens as it added sweetness to our soup. The YTF here is served alongside with 2 types of sauce, chili and sweet sauce (the brownish sweet sauce or red in some places that is served together with Chee Cheong Fun. Also, accompanying the YTF, rice is served instead of the usual noodles selection we have back in Ipoh. This is definitely my first. Imagine asking a bowl of rice back in Ipoh, the tauke sure will give you a weird-kind-of look and a blank stare (that if he's not too busy, else you'll be ignored). If you would like to have something much lighter, you can opt for the CCF: Chee Cheong Fun.

I will definitely visit again, although Ipoh has a wide selections of good YTF, this is something very different.
